The Vedas: Significance

When Swami Vivekananda, the dedicated disciple of Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa, went to Chicago to participate in the World Religions Conference  for Vedas. He went there  to unfurl the flag of his knowledge, a number of representatives and leaders of other prominent religions took part in the programme.

Then, they were all circulating  the high points of their own religions and beliefs . The beliefs which includes  describing the importance and significant characteristics of their religious books. On a table covered with a beautiful silky tablecloth a number of religious books were there. One found the table on the center of attraction for everyone for those who  participated  in the conference. | Significance of The Vedas  |

Your Vedas are at the bottom of the stack.” Swami Vivekananda kept on smiling on what the organizer was saying.

Moreover, one clever religious leader stacked the books in a pile. Somebody kept  the Vedas at the bottom of the pile. There  were all  the other books  present . Eventually ,somebody kept The Holy Quran on the top of the Vedas.

On the top are the Holy Quran and The Bible and all other books.

After all ,the clever organizer cunningly said to Swami Vivekananda, “Swamiji, now you see that the source of all your knowledge. As a matter of fact , somebody kept the Vedas  deep under all other religious books. Literally ,these are at the bottom of the pile.

The organizer became surprised  with the reply and left speechless.

After a while ,Swamiji said smilingly, “What you are looking at is seen by me in a different way. You said that the Vedas lied buried under all the other religious books but look at the pile again carefully and you will find that these are the foundation of all the religious books.

Lastly ,all other books contains topics on the Vedas. All the knowledge is flowing from the Vedas. These are the voice of God himself. These are the greatest and most pious of all the religious books.”
