One of the greatest youth icons of India, whose life and teachings have inspired millions of youth across the world. A monk, an orator, a patriot and a true Karma Yogi, Swami Vivekananda dedicated all his life to the spiritual development of mankind.
Swami Vivekananda had great faith in the youth of India. He believed in their capabilities and he wanted them to dedicate themselves to serve humanity. Swami Vivekananda spoke a lot about the power of youth, and he believed the Youth will transform the fate of India through hard work, dedication and spiritual power.
Through these and many such messages, he wanted to instill
Swami Vivekananda always encouraged the youth to have faith in themselves and their abilities. Those who lack confidence, they are hesitant, lack the nerve to take risks and are unable to tackle challenges.
“Anything that makes you weak physically, intellectually and spiritually, reject as poison,” said Swami Vivekananda.
As we grow up, some of our optimism is replaced with negative thoughts. We begin doubting our own abilities, feel dejected and hopeless. People must endeavor to get back to our positive self again. We can achieve that through selfless action, meditation and Yoga.
“Talk to yourself at least once in a day. Otherwise you may miss a meeting with an excellent person in this world.”
Here swami Vivekananda is telling the youth to develop a calm and focused mind so that they can connect with their inner self.
Today’s youth are too busy in their own worlds. They are immersed in various activities, thinking about their future and relationships. At times, they should stop, empty themselves and connect with their inner self. It will help them in developing a fresh vision for life.
“Arise! Awake! And stop not until the goal is reached.” The youth of India needs a purpose in life, without which they will never be able to realize their true potential. So, set goals, work incessantly towards achieving them and stay inspired to push yourself.
Swami Vivekananda also said, “Without an unbroken chain of discipleship—Guruparampara—nothing can be done.”
He believed that, “Guru-Bhakti is the foundation of all spiritual development.”
And once he declared, “My dearest and nearest relative in life is my Guru; next, my mother; then my father. My first reverence is to the Guru. If my father says, “Do this”, and my Guru says, “Do not do this”, I do not do it. The Guru frees my soul. The father and mother give me this body; but the Guru gives me rebirth in the soul.”
Swami Vivekananda had a great vision for the youth of India. He wanted them to attain self-confidence, resilience, Guru-Bhakti, and spiritual power through hard work. Let’s understand the teachings behind the messages of the ‘greatest torchbearer of Indian culture’ and make them the foundation of our life.
