Why conflicts arise?

Why conflicts arise

Inner conflicts hinder the ability to make right decision, fulfill duties and stay calm. So, how to get inner peace?

Why conflicts arise?

A majority of people possess multiple personalities, each constantly fighting for dominance. This fight for supremacy results in inner conflict that sometimes may turn to be a painful experience. It also may leave a person in a state of physical and mental exhaustion.

Such inner conflict may disturb even the calmest of hearts. And the most important thing here to understand is that such a situation is something people have unfortunately created themselves by using multiple thoughts and emotions.

The Impact of Inner Conflict

The constant inner conflict hinders the ability to make correct decision. Their own thoughts override what they think is morally right. This inner struggle leads to negative emotions like anger, fear, isolation, uncertainty, etc.

Such disturbances make people indecisive: To help a needy or not when someone is facing a trouble; which dress to pick white or yellow; to visit the temple or not; to wake up in the morning or not for meditation, and many other indecisions.

Some people face moral conflicts as well that arise when their personal values are put to the test. For example, a person always wants to be truthful. Yet, sometimes he may have to tell a lie for the good of someone.

Further, the urge to satisfy various desires is also a cause of conflict. At times, people are unable to find the right balance between their heart and mind.

For a happy and balanced life, people should learn how to overcome their inner battles and instil inner peace.

Replacing the inner conflict with inner peace

Usually, a majority of people ignore their inner disturbance. They see it as a temporary bout of emotions and do not pay much attention to it. Consequently, they keep suffering from it. They suppress or deny the circumstances that amplify the situation or simply believe such conflicts do not exist.

Are you also one of them?

Understand that when you decide to deal with it, only then you will win and replace your inner conflicts with inner peace. Even though the inner skirmish is inevitable, freeing yourself from its grasp is possible.

So, try to free yourself from it. Here are some ways.

Accept your situation

With an open mind accept your situation and make the genuine acknowledgment. Inner conflicts rock you back & forth in indecision making it challenging to understand the problem and to work out a solution.

However, when you recognize the issue, it becomes easier to figure out the solution. Stay conscious of the duality of your mind and without any bias think in a reasonable way to ascertain what is right for you at that moment.

Your conscience, maturity and inner strength will help you with that.

Practice detachment

Know that your desire to remain attached to certain ideologies and beliefs that do not conform to your present realities cause inner conflict.

So, if you understand the negative impact of inner conflict, then be firm in your decision and stay away from situations that might cause confusion within.

Calm Your Mind

When your mind is calm it becomes easier for you to gain clarity over the situation at hand. Most of the time, your inner voice is giving you negative ideas that are clearer than the voice of reasoning. When such voices arise, distract your mind and practice restraint. Try some strategies to help calm your mind. Practice mindful breathing exercises, reading, listening to music, offering prayers, meditation, or taking a nature walk.

Thus, know that while it is tough to openly agree with the inner skirmishes raging within you, ignoring their existence means robbing yourself of all the happiness and positivity that life offers. These conflicts are a part of your personality, and you have to learn to cope with them willingly or unwillingly.

Rather than being in the grasp of your negative feelings, acknowledge, identify, and get rid of them now to make space for inner peace. These wars are your test. Wisdom is born within you from facing them. So, face and don’t escape. Fight it and enter into the state of inner peace through making the right decisions that are good for you and others as well.
