How we see ourselves is nothing else, but only physical body. This is the human body that is best known. We assumed that around this physical body, the world and the universe exists. It comprises of cells, tissues, muscles, skins, bones, blood and organs. This Physical body is also called food body, i.e. Annamayakosha. This is the first Kosha or the first body, described in Taittiriya Upanishad, a textual source of the Koshas theory.
Those who are born, are born of food.
Whoever reached this Earth,
From then on they subsist on food.
And in the end, they go back to it.
Food is the eldest among the living beings.
That is why they call it the universal medicine.

As we know that body, mind and spirit are interconnected, interrelated and interpenetrating. Therefore a good food affects our body, mind and soul positively and a bad food adversely effects body, mind and soul. In Chandogya Upanishad, it is well said that ‘Pure food purifies body and soul. It benefits the memory. Purity of memory opens all the blockages in the body. It is important for the food to be pure and full of nourishment.’ So what type of food you eat definitely has an impact on what kind of body you build
