This Mauni Amavasya, Be Silent for Sometimes

When you ask anybody, ‘how was your day?’, chances are high that you will get the answer- it was a hectic day, it was a busy day; I listened a lot and talked a lot; this is a part of my daily life. For them, a day of complete silence could be boredom or some sort of miracle. But human beings must understand the importance of serenity in their day-to-day life. | Mauni Amavasya |

Silence helps you in self-reflection and self-talk that activates your creative brain. When you are quiet, you have enough time to turn down the annoying inner and outer noise. You become aware of other important aspects of life. Spending time unblocked, detached, and in silence expands your focus, productivity, and creativity.
When you are silent, you also tend to appreciate The Creator and His majestic creation. Remember that being lost in your own inner chaos is detrimental to your mental well-being. Try to sit in silence for some time each day and reap many benefits.

This practice of silence is the basis of Mauni Amavasya that will be celebrated in India on 11th February, 2021.

Mauni Amavasya & Silence

Mauni Amavasya is the last Amavasya in the year before Maha Shivratri. The day of Mauni Amavasya is the most suitable time to balance various elements that regulate mental, physical and spiritual processes in human beings. It is a very important day on which you may awaken your wisdom by taking the vow of silence. So, speak less on this day as the tongue may harm sentiments of others. On this day, do meditation and Pranayam combined with silence.

Benefits of Silence

1. Helps in Creative Process

Creativity is an important part of many peoples’ lives, and silence is a crucial part of the creative process. Silence empowers you and inspires creativity within. Perhaps that’s why great scientists, writers and painters work alone in a serene environment. The best creative work is often completed in solitude or after a brief period of solitude. Of course, discussion with others has its own set of benefits, but unique works happen when the outside world and your inner world are in a silent state.

2. Improves Attentiveness

When various sounds enter your brain all at once, they hamper your ability to concentrate. So, one of the major reasons why you should sit in silence sometimes is that, it enhances your ability to focus. A silent environment makes you more attentive.

3. A Relaxed & Productive Life

Struggling with stress and having difficulties with staying calm? Spare and enjoy some moments of silence each day. You will have a chance to relax and reduce the stress level. Sometimes do nothing and remain silent. It enhances your mental ability and thinking capacity that improves your productivity.

4. Develops Endurance

Learn to enjoy silence to cultivate calmness in life that eventually leads to a remarkable enhancement in your tolerance level. You don’t lose your cool during adverse situations at home or work. And such a cool head invites great miracles in life.

Therefore, for a cool, tranquil, and productive life steal some moments each day to sit in silence. Spend some time daily reflecting on your actions and give a whole new meaning to your daily life. Every individual who aspires to accomplish something great in life must realize the power of silence and use it in a positive manner.
