Why is Self-Analysis So Important?

As a human being, it is utmost important to keep evolving. An introspective person is always way ahead of time and people because of his habit of regularly trying to understand his mind, feelings, thoughts and inner workings.

We often see many people frequently changing their occupation but they rarely succeed in any of them. Reason being – they are not clear about what they want from their life. This lack of clarity originates from their self-doubt. Such people are low in confidence and never able to believe in themselves and their capabilities.

However, a jitendriya (a person who has won his senses), who is aatm gyani (self-realised); has great confidence in himself. He is fully aware of his capabilities. This reflects in his overall personality and style of doing things. He keeps working on improving his skills by doing self-analysis. He does not let success, failure, fame, disrepute, happiness, sorrow or anything come in his way. We should always strive to be like such person as this attitude leads to overall growth.

Why is Self-Analysis Important?

Not only self-improvement, this practice teaches us to love ourselves. It gives us the necessary impetus for growth alongside the clarity of mind. We become mindful of our thoughts, actions, words and motives. This mindfulness supports in achieving mental peace and happiness.

Gaining Self-Confidence

But how can we achieve this? The answer is simple – Meditation. If you have fickle mind tendency then it can be addressed through meditation. When you meditate in silence, you gradually observe many changes in you, such as:

  • Enhanced self-awareness
  • A new perspective on stressful situations
  • Focus on present
  • Less negative thoughts
  • Increased imagination and creativity
  • Ability to manage stress
  • Boost in the levels of patience and tolerance

Meditation helps you know yourself in and out. You are well aware of your weaknesses and work on turning these weaknesses into your strengths. The basic difference between a soul-centric person and an ignorant one is of introspection. An ordinary being is always trapped in materialistic and frivolous things. On the contrary, a prudent person follows the process of improvement. No matter what situation such person encounters in life, he will successfully come out of it. The holy Bhagavad Gita also emphasises on swadhyay that literally means self-study or self-analysis. So from today onwards, start working on this aspect and be ready to meet the new version of yours.
