It is still possible to ensure that every girl child receives the support, love and care to grow up to be a strong individual

Do Not Clip Her Wings

There is a strong link between the widespread societal problems- such as poverty, crime, unemployment, juvenile delinquency, social unrest, crime against women & children- and the fact that girls, a huge majority of them, are not empowered.

A girl child’s problem begins at a very young age and sometimes, even before she is born. Many households still prefer sons over daughters and so if she is ‘fortunate’ she is allowed to be born. And after birth, she continues to face issues related to widespread discrimination.

In many rural areas and even cities, proper nutrition is still a challenge for a girl child, and her education is also not a priority. After marriage, she continues to face hardships; sometimes in the form of mental torture beyond belief and cruelty.

Timely Support Can Change the Situation

This all may end if girl children start getting a little support from family members, neighbours and society when they need it. It is still possible to ensure that every girl child receives the support, love and care to grow up to be a strong individual with equal opportunities in life. It needs some truly willing men and women who are in fortunate circumstances.

With little support, a girl child blooms into a healthy mother, a caring sister, a resourceful homemaker, a hard-working teacher, a life-saving doctor, and a great leader. So, support her in whatever way you can and don’t clip her wings in her early years.

Help her realize the power of her wings so that she can fly high and create a beautiful world for everyone.

How to Support?

There are many ways to support girl children and equip them with useful resources, good quality education, nutrition, sound health, required skills, support, care, and above all, confidence.

All Men & Women should come forward to bring a difference in the lives of those girls who need it.

  1. Start from Your Own Home

Be willing to empower girls and begin right in your own home, office, and community. Empowering doesn’t always mean helping with money or material. To begin with, just acknowledge all the hard work women put in order to make your life easier; be it your teacher, Gynecologists, doctors, nurses, mothers, sisters, partners, caregivers or housemaids. When you get the opportunity, just tell them how much you appreciate them and their work. Verbal support boosts confidence amazingly.

  1. Bridge the Digital Divide

School closure has put millions of girl children without access to education. Due to the lack of mobile phones or laptops, many are out of touch with learning for a long time now. As educational gaps widen, children need help getting back to safe school environments.

Try to ensure that no girl child is left behind due to the digital divide. If someone you know facing the same situation, help her.

  1. Mentor a Child

Many girl children growing up in our country are held back due to poverty at home and lack access to education. Reach out and enrich the life of a girl child in your neighborhood by volunteering to be her mentor.

  1. Support Schools Offering Free Education to Girl Children

When underprivileged girls go to school and get education, a lot of amazing things happen for them and their families. Many nonprofit organizations understand this and offer free education to girl children through schools with all facilities. Such organizations will be able to expand and serve more girls when supported generously by people like you. Thus give!

By helping such institutions, you are also helping many girl children enjoy better health, earn money, start a new life, enabling them to participate in social life actively.

  1. Help Businesses Grow

Look around, you’ll find many hardworking women entrepreneurs who are waiting to fulfill their dream of building a successful business. Small financial support is all they need. If you are resourceful, take some efforts to help them out.

Your small support has the power to change the destiny of many women.

In fact, there are many ways to help marginalized girl children and women. Do your share in a way you can. It is also a kind of worship that provides you with inner peace. It will make society even more beautiful and equal in a true sense.
