The Festival of Eternal Love - Karwa Chauth

Karva Chauth is not just the celebration of the bond between married couples, rather in one way it also celebrates the importance of a stable family and, more so, a stable society.

The Festival of Eternal Love

A stable family is the fundamental unit of society. Such a family, most of the times, consists of a man and woman, bound together by marriage. It is a bond which is grounded in a commitment to mutual love & support.

In India, this strong commitment is recognized by various festivals and Karva Chauth is one such beautiful festival.

This auspicious festival is not just the celebration of the bond between married couples, rather in one way it also celebrates the importance of a stable family and, more so, a stable society.

Karwa Chauth, an Extraordinary Festival

A family that gives importance to value system also offers the best environment for raising children, providing them with the needed care, love, and support. Such a value system is required for success in life.

The family, undoubtedly, is the best institution for nurturing and raising future generations. It prepares them to handle the upcoming responsibilities. And this makes the symbol of marital auspiciousness, Karwa Chauth an extraordinary festival.

It celebrates eternal love; the beautiful bond between a husband & wife and their togetherness despite day-to-day problems. Karva Chauth is also a wonderful time for detoxification for the women who keep a fast from dawn to dusk.

They neither eat nor take water throughout the day and prayers are offered to a graceful form of Goddess Parvati, named Gauri. She bestows blessings for a long and joyous married life.

Tales of Courage & Passion

Some fascinating tales are related to this amazing festival.

One of the most popular ones is linked with Savitri and Satyavan. In it, Savitri brought back her loving husband from the clutches of death. She outwitted the God of death with her arguments, iron will, and intellect.

Another story is that of Veervati, the only sister of seven brothers. When the brothers could not endure to see her fasting the whole day they made her believe that the moon had risen. She broke her fast but soon got the bad news about her husband.

She prayed for a long time. The Gods pleased with her unwavering devotion and gave back her husband’s life.

Such tales show how passion & courage of a strong-willed person can defeat even the Gods and force them to shower their blessings.

Marriage, a Sacrosanct Bond

Marriage, certainly is a sacred bond. The feeling of being married could become more enjoyable if couples are ready to make sacrifices. Marriage, moreover, gives you real strength as your better half completes your personality. It is an intimate union that is the basis of a healthy society, rooted in the divine plan of creation

Therefore, try to make your bond even stronger with mutual understanding, tolerance, and wisdom.

Wishes for a beautiful Karva Chauth celebration!
