Diwali, the Enlightening Festival of Lights

The last two days of the dark half of the Kartik month, are highly auspicious. We celebrate Deepawali or Diwali fervently on these days.

A few legends are associated with the day including, the day celebrates the marriage of Goddess Lakshmi with Lord Vishnu; a day on which devotees worship Goddess Kali in Bengal; or a blessed day on which the victorious Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya.

Apart from celebrating these reasons, the auspicious day has a special place in the hearts of people, devotees and seekers for many reasons.

The festival of lights brings about unity and celebratory spirit. On this day, people wear a cheerful mood and mix with one another without any prejudice, all hostilities being forgotten. The day also denotes ethical discipline, efficiency in duties and, of course, spiritual advancement.

These vibes motivate all to move on the path of calmness and festivity leaving behind the lacklustre chaos and dullness of a routine life.
