Diwali, the Enlightening Festival of Lights

The last two days of the dark half of the Kartik month, are highly auspicious. We celebrate Deepawali or Diwali fervently on these days.

A few legends are associated with the day including, the day celebrates the marriage of Goddess Lakshmi with Lord Vishnu; a day on which devotees worship Goddess Kali in Bengal; or a blessed day on which the victorious Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya.

Apart from celebrating these reasons, the auspicious day has a special place in the hearts of people, devotees and seekers for many reasons.

The festival of lights brings about unity and celebratory spirit. On this day, people wear a cheerful mood and mix with one another without any prejudice, all hostilities being forgotten. The day also denotes ethical discipline, efficiency in duties and, of course, spiritual advancement.

So, on this day, be in a happy mood realizing the true nature of your mind and heart. Embrace one another with acceptance & love and then only the blessings of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi would arrive in your life in the form of auspiciousness, progress and prosperity.

Without Peace, Prosperity is Impossible

Certainly, Diwali is a beautiful unifying force. Develop a keen inner spiritual ears on this day and you will hear the voice of Lord Ram in the surroundings encapsulating His wisdom of acceptance and universal brotherhood.

For this divinity only, the Diwali vibes and the greetings of care & love that fill the atmosphere are powerful enough to bring about a change of heart in everyone. These vibes motivate all to move on the path of calmness and festivity leaving behind the lacklustre chaos and dullness of a routine life.

Such a celebratory spirit, in fact, is essential to make humans turn away from the ruinous path of anger and hatred and move on the path of peace, progress and prosperity. This is because without peace, prosperity is impossible.

So, on Diwali, open fresh account books and pray Lord Ganesh and Goddess Lakshmi for success and prosperity in the coming year backed on hard work, peace and conscience.

On Diwali, Illuminate Your Inner Self!

Moreover, while praying for prosperity, do not forget to illuminate your inner self in the chamber of your heart. Close your eyes, sit with serenity and withdraw all the senses. Fix the mind on the supreme soul which is the illuminating light and realize the real Diwali.

Understand that your ‘Inner Self’ is the supreme power that sees all but whom no one can behold. It illumines the knowledge within you by removing the darkness of ignorance. All the lights of the world cannot be compared even to the minutest ray of your Inner Self. It is your true light. Try to submerge yourself in this beautiful light through meditation and enjoy the enlightened Diwali.

So, this Diwali, collect the divine wealth of the ‘Self’ and prosper magnificently on the spiritual as well as material dimensions.
