This Diwali, Let’s Give the Wealth of Hope to the Needy
“Aroha Tamso Jyotih”
(One Step From Darkness Towards Lights)
This week, we are going to celebrate auspicious festivals, Dhanteras, Deepawali and Govardhan Puja. People will celebrate these auspicious festivals amidst a situation wherein millions are suffering due to COVID-19 and millions have lost their jobs. Since no one can do anything about the unprecedented situation, let’s fight it by all means. Put your trust in God, and have this belief that the suffering will end eventually.
Deepawali is a celebration of lights, family and prosperity. Let’s celebrate it differently this year and spend the day by sharing our wealth- the wealth of hope. This is our utmost duty to give this wealth to people who need it badly, people who are struggling. Understand that, we celebrate Diwali to mark Lord Rama’s victorious efforts despite the struggles that are unimaginable for ordinary humans. Lord Rama and Mata Sita found their way home after passing through that difficult period. Their way lit by lamps and we celebrated Diwali.
For Lord Ram and Mata Sita, the vanvaas was for 14 years. Don’t you think that the mankind globally is also witnessing a Vanvaas-like situation? But we shall not lose our hope as we have to move on and we have to live our life blissfully. Let’s pray for a blessed life for all and say that O Almighty God, this Diwali, please fill our hearts with hope. We have submitted ourselves unto you entirely. Please empower us so that we can help the needy around us.
Let’s invest our time in the service of God, and experience the inner peace so that we can gain four types of wealth by the blessings of our Guru.
1. The Wealth of Hope
A wise investment results in good returns. Likewise, if you are investing your time in God, you will gain good returns in the form of immense hope. And that hope will transform your life completely. Adopt a hopeful and enthusiastic heart to live lightly and expect a pleasant and prosperous future. Hope is a wonderful gift from God, a soft burning flame that cannot be extinguished and which is capable of enduring any difficult situation.
2. The Wealth of Intellect
During these difficult times, let’s pray for strength as this is our real wealth. And that wealth will come if you work toward increasing your intellectual prosperity. We need prosperity at the intellectual level as well. Our Buddhi, soojh boojh shall always remain productive and that is possible if you are intellectually prosperous.
3. The Wealth of Love in Family
As our Guru always says, there is nothing in this life without relationships, love and family. Maintain your relationships, protect your relationships and work consistently for developing a mutual trust. Stay away from spreading negativity in relationships and never become hateful. Your supreme duty is to grow your consciousness and believe in mending relationships not breaking it.
4. The Wealth of Social Prestige
I wish that everyone achieves social prestige by working for the upliftment of the needy. Our scriptures teach us to give whatever we have to our family and society and also to those who need it. By adopting this virtue, the wealth of social prestige will accrue.
I wish everyone a very happy, healthy and prosperous Deepawali and also appeal everyone to purchase earthen lamps and candles from the needy so that they can also celebrate the festivals.
