Can the World Function Without God?

Can the World Function Without God?

Can the World Function Without God?

The splendor of Paramātmā and the beauty of the soul and God is within you, but you have to work hard to realize Him and His power.

Can the World Function Without God?

“Without God all things are permitted.” – Fyodor Dostoyevsky

Imagine! We are living in a world where everything is allowed. Nothing is immoral in this world. No one is answerable for any wrongdoing and sin. There is no fear; no restrain, no code of conduct and no virtues left. There is no meaning to our lives, there is no hope, no faith, no prayers, no miracles and there is nothing to look forward to. There is no end to unkindness. Everyone is into a hopeless existence.

Sounds horrifying, isn’t it?

This looks awful because it shows the picture of a world that lacks the positive energy- a world without the concept of Karma, self-realization, perseverance and empathy. And this is a world without God. Such a world is a meaningless entity, awash with self-centeredness and chaos. For obvious reasons, this world would not function properly.
Since time immemorial, for a human being, God is the Supreme Being. He is the ultimate savior and we seek His help in the darkest hours of our life. We have a beautiful relationship with Him. We remember Him when we are sad and thank Him when elated. And at times, we take Him for granted and sometimes forget that His laws extend much further than our horizon.

Look around yourself, you will find that injustice and tragedies are all around and yet you will find that compassion, hope and justice is also at the same place. These virtues are due to the presence of God. He holds everyone accountable, keeps them moral, gives meaning to everyone’s life, showers blessings upon all and gives everyone something to look forward to in life.

He is like an energy within everyone and no one can survive without this life energy. So, human beings can survive without experiencing or seeing God, but no one can live peacefully and with hope without God.

Can We Realize God?

Through practice, perseverance and meditation, of course we can. Make all your senses free from their desire. Make them abstinent. These senses are enjoying their food for quite a long time. Put a guard, a gatekeeper at the gate of these senses, restrain the entry of any debauched thought and meditate. This will lead you towards Paramātmā wherein you may endeavor to realize God.

Be like a composed man, a seeker, let your eyes see only Paramātmā, lips only chant the name of Paramātmā, ears just listen to His hymns, and about Him in discourses. And if all the senses surrender to God, then believe that you will be liberated, and your life can reach a state of beatification.

Moreover, if your senses are inclined towards the outer world, they reach the materialistic world and if they have a proclivity for the inner world, they reach Paramātmā. Now it is up to you whether you are drawing your senses towards the outer world or turning them within.

If you wish, your eyes would see the outer world and if you wish they would perceive the beauty of Paramātmā within. The splendor of Paramātmā and the beauty of the soul and God is within you, but you have to work hard to realize Him and His power.
